Welcome to The Cottage Shop. By placing an order or purchasing from The Cottage Shop LLC, you agree to the following terms and policies outlined below.

Shipping Policy

The Cottage Shop is primarily an in-store boutique experience and does not operate as a full online retail store.

 

On a limited basis, we may arrange shipping for select smaller, non-fragile items. Shipping is typically offered when a customer has visited the shop and later requests an item to be sent.

 

When shipping is arranged:

 

• Items are carefully packaged to help prevent damage.

• Shipping costs are based on actual size and weight.

• Tracking and insurance are included when applicable.

 

If an item is damaged during shipping, we will work with you to file a claim with the carrier and determine an appropriate resolution.​

 

Local Pickup

Local pickup at The Cottage Shop is available during regular business hours. Customers will be notified when their order is ready for pickup.

Return Policy

All sales are final.

 

Due to the nature of handcrafted wood products and personalized items, we do not accept returns or exchanges.

 

For personalized pieces, a proof is typically sent for approval before production begins so you can confirm placement, spelling, and design details. Once a proof is approved and production has started, changes can no longer be made.

 

If you ever have a concern about your order, please reach out. I care deeply about the quality of my work and want you to love your finished piece.

Sales & Orders

Payment is due at the time of purchase or order placement. Production of personalized items does not begin until payment has been received.

 

By placing an order with The Cottage Shop, you agree to the policies outlined on our website, including our Shipping Policy, Return Policy, and Privacy Policy.

 

All sales are final.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are non-refundable and not redeemable for cash. The Cottage Shop is not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards.

 

Gift cards do not expire unless required by applicable law.

Handcrafted Nature of Products

Many items at The Cottage Shop are handcrafted. No two pieces are exactly alike.

 

Variations in wood, paint, stain, ribbon, beads, florals, and other materials are inherent in handcrafted products and contribute to the uniqueness of each piece.

 

Wood Product Characteristics

Wood is a natural material and will vary in color, grain, texture, and pattern. Characteristics such as knots, mineral streaks, pinholes, and natural cracks are not considered defects.

 

Wood may expand or contract with changes in temperature and humidity. Over time, natural aging may result in minor cracking or variation. These characteristics are part of the natural beauty of wood products.

Care of Wood Products

Outdoor signs are sealed for water and UV protection. Most indoor wood products are sealed with a protective finish.

 

To clean, gently wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not soak or scrub.

Limitation of Liability

The Cottage Shop LLC is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use, misuse, or natural aging of our products.

 

Our liability, if any, is limited to the purchase price of the item.
