A little about me...
If you had told me back in 2018 that a little shop tucked into the countryside of rural Indiana would grow into what The Cottage Shop is today, I would have laughed and thought you were crazy.
What started as a small idea — almost a whim — has become something so much bigger than I ever imagined. The Cottage Shop isn’t just a place to buy home décor. It’s where creativity, faith, patience, and community have come together in the most beautiful way.
The Cottage Shop is about creating pieces that mean something — personalized keepsakes, engraved boards and handwriting pieces, and thoughtfully curated décor that feels timeless rather than trendy. Items chosen carefully and made to last.
Everything you see here is either crafted by me in my home workshop or carefully selected to reflect the heart of this shop: cozy touches, thoughtful gifts, and timeless charm.
Over the years, The Cottage Shop has grown to include things I never would have predicted — our Board Bar experience, personalized ornaments and keepsakes, our signature Cottage Blend fragrance, seasonal markets, and collaborations with other amazing makers. Supporting fellow small businesses — especially women building their dreams — is something I care deeply about.
But the best part?
It’s the people.
Customers have become friends. Conversations stretch longer than planned. Stories are shared. That connection is what makes this place feel different.
My husband (whom I lovingly refer to as my “maintenance crew”) and I have been married nearly 30 years, and together we’ve raised our family here in rural Indiana — farming, working hard, and building something meaningful. Our daughters have grown up watching this dream take shape, and that alone makes it worth it.
The Cottage Shop is nestled in the countryside between Portland and Redkey — and yes, it’s a little off the beaten path. But there’s something special about that. It’s quiet. It’s intentional. It feels like coming home.
This shop is where my creativity runs wild.
Where connection matters more than transactions.
And where “home” truly begins.
I can’t wait to welcome you.
